About the Role
Reporting to the EVP Global Partnerships and Licensing, this role will manage CPLG’s APACs business and realizing growth in presence, revenue and portfolio. Responsible for the strategic focus, guidance and support to establish, formulate and execute strategic goals aligned to the objectives and priorities of WildBrain Corporate. Supporting the EVP in achieving maximum profitability, identifying new opportunities, along with motivating and engaging the team. This role will work closely with peers in London and across other regions.
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction to the territory’s team with the ability to motivate through leading from the front and by example
- Create trust with licensors to continue to develop APAC presence
- Manage portfolio of licensors together with HQ and drive best in class consumer product programs
- Manage licensors and licensees with a comprehensive understanding of the licensing industry
- Collaborate with customers, partners, suppliers and key stakeholders to maximize sales and have a full line of sight of all departments within the territory
- Drive SEA sales growth maintaining a thorough understand of the current market and trends across the different regions and commercial opportunities that the business can exploit and determine the optimal commercial strategy to maximize profit growth
- Manage an overall and individual region P&L’s operating within the limits of the approved budget
- Manage the territory according to the local laws and regulations including data protection and employment law
- Observe the market and act/make recommendations for an improvement of the territory operation
- As part of WildBrain CPLG Senior Management Team contribute innovative ideas to the business and looking to expand and create opportunities in brand development fostering strong relationships with SVP’s and VP’s from other territories and creating synergies globally
- As the leader within the territory, accountable for all employees working with Human Resources focusing on learning and development, motivation, engagement, training, and providing an environment of encouragement to foster employee engagement and role satisfaction reflecting the company’s values
- Work with the sales team on development of pitch presentations: critiquing and editing, brainstorming big ideas, development of the pitch “story” and actively participating as necessary
- Work cross-functionally within WildBrain CPLG teams (Partnership, Legal, Finance, Creative Services) to delivery fully supported launches and brand activations. In addition collaborate WildBrain BU’s (Audience Engagement & Content Creation) to activate brand 360 opportunities for WildBrain brands and 3rd party brands.
- Hold all staff company meetings within APAC monthly to share priority updates, successes or challenges, ensuring all staff are kept up to date with company goals and objectives
- Work together with EVP to expand office network in region where applicable
Requirements
- Highly entrepreneurial, self-starter who has the ability and drive to develop a business
- Intimate knowledge of the licensing business
- Ability to efficiently manage an overall and individual region P&L’s
- Strong leadership and development skills
- Proven experience of a senior management position within sales or retail
- Resilient, competitive, able to inspire and win the confidence of a successful senior team and within the wider business
- Ability to initiate and manage change management within the territory
- Demonstrate high emotional intelligence, integrity and an ethical approach
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Excellent project leadership/management skills
- Innovate, competitive lateral thinker with the ability to spot new opportunities
